Laurent CALOMNE is a music teacher (Clarinet, percussions and saxophone) specialised in music theory, and also a composer of electronic musics. The Belgian musician unveils the width of his skils in a first album, "Monstres Et Chimères", published in 2005 on the Dreaming label. As meant by the title, this opus is an invitation to sail instrumentally through some of the most famous myths of so-called popular unconscious, such as the Unicorn, the Minotaur or the Phoenix. Musically speaking, our man uses cleverly his various keyboards, enabling him to paint rich and colorful landscapes. Finding a true reference would be uneasy, even if some sounds may evoke VANGELIS or TANGERINE DREAM. Anyway, this is one of the most exciting recent albums in Seventies-like electronic musics.
