DROP-O-RAMA is a project that was started in 1999 in Paris by Antoine De MONTREMY (Drums) and Raphaël HAUTEFORT (Guitar). To prepare the recording of the complete album, they invited singer Olivier CAMPANA, guitarist Alain JOURNEL and drummer Eric PAGES. Obviously influenced by the English rock school, the singer got experience within the numerous London line-ups he worked with for six years (THE NERVOUS WRECKS). The two others are the former leaders of the group RESPECT (“Despair” was issued in 1995 on BMG/Media 7), and also play as a duo named OPEN PROJECT. The band performs a quite personal heavy-metal that puts emphasis on the melody, integrating at the same time varied influences that go from pop to the borderline of industrial. The songs on this first album are quite representative of DROP-O-RAMA’s musical concept, with a very important place given to the vocals and the guitars, but without under-estimating the keyboards melodical ideas. The whole can seem to lack uniformity, but this is the basis of this line-up. Among the musicians’ influences, we can find the Eighties and the best of the Nineties, from MÖTLEY CRUE to Billy IDOL, from RAMMSTEIN to ANGRA, from SAVATAGE to Steve VAI. "Nothing Changes" (2002) was issued by Plakar Records and is distributed by Brennus.
