Coming from Besançon, BROKEN EDGE has never denied its favourite musical style: a well performed heavy-metal that blends power, aggressiveness and melodies. The major influences are to be found with PANTERA and MACHINE HEAD, even though the band could stay sufficiently away from them and create a truly personal style. In 1994, the mini-CD "The New Century" was issued. The furious thrash performed by the four musicians showed a real unity and a perfect technique. Then, a year later, they issued a new mini-CD called "Hate". The band’s style became more refined and their sound got bigger. BROKEN EDGE then became one of the leaders of the new French heavy-metal. 1996 is the year the first album was issued. Called "Cold Lies", it benefited from the help of guitar-hero Chris SAVOUREY. First album signed by the label Thundering with Laurent BOCQUET, "NoFameNoNameNoShame" (2000) is a 6-track mini-CD with an interactive part (Summary of the band’s career and two videos). It was recorded at Stéphane BURIEZ’s (LOUDBLAST) famous LB Studios. Still produced by the same team, "Obey And Conform!" (2002) can be musically defined as between PANTERA, MESSHUGGAH, RAMMSTEIN and MACHINE HEAD. This album reaches peaks of intensity and virtuosity: we’ll just mention wild guitar parts, extraordinary solos, a roaring bass, quite martial and sometimes tribal drums, crazy rhythms… All of this led by violent vocals and perfect timing. Here is definitely the album that should allow BROKEN EDGE to become famous both in France and in Europe.
