It was in September 2005 when Syd, a rock and poetry lover, Eric Plante, a jazz and sound ambiances junky and Jean-François Arsenault, a dedicated 60’s & 70’s prog fan merged their musical influences to create the artistic identity of that band now know as Jelly Fiche.
This band literally swims into a sea of artistic creativity. It’s unique concept surpasses all the limits of the actual French-Canadian scene. Jelly Fiche will transports you into a whirlwind of surrealism, mystery, fantasy, psychic balance and unbalance… it is a comeback to the Source of poetry merged within a rock culture. Without any commercial borders, this trio brings the audience into their futuristic vision of a past era through the theatrical expression of their performances.
The poetic lyrics, sometimes abstract or engaged are written by Syd or by third party writers. They reflect the band’s vision about nature, respect for life, Tao, injustice and fantasy. Guy Marchamps, an internationally famous French-Canadian poet signs a few of the band’s lyrics.
