Oboe Italiano is a CD with the oboe works of Italian composers, but how, you ask, could the works of Albinoni and Vivalid, who both wrote so much for this instrument, have been omitted? Therein lies the attraction and daring of this CD - beautiful pieces from less known composers, presented to the listener for the first time. By coincidence, this CD also pays homage to a legendary oboe player, Lady Barbirolli. Two fo the works were created especially for her artistry - the concerts from Cimarosa and Castelnuovo-Tedesco.
