SCARLET THREAD is the name of a young and gifted Finnish Progressive rock band, founded in 1995. More than a decade later, its second album is published on the Musea label, "Valheista Kaunein". The particularity of SCARLET THREAD is that there are two guitarists, whereas the keyboards parts have been replaced by a full-time violin player and also some flute sequences. This band has its own identity, melting dynamism, freshness and refinement. There are some folk hints in their melodies, but it's a real rock album. These nine instrumental pieces sometimes recall RENAISSANCE (In a more powerful style), KANSAS or JETHRO TULL. Above all, they can be brought near the only and excellent album by the english band SOLSTICE. Really impressive !
