OLYAM, aka composer and keyboards player Olivier BRIGAND may have been very impressed when he met Chilean flautist Hernan SAAVEDRA. As a specialist of the traditional South-American repertoire, this one plays the pan pipes, the kenas and the charangos. In order to embellish the rich sound range, the two musicians also add elegant additional guitar parts, completed by discreet percussions. The instrumental music contained in "Attacama" (2002) could have been a snapshot of what the likes of VANGELIS or Patrick BROGUIERE could have played after having listened to "El Condor Pasa" ! It evokes faraway and disorienting journeys, from the driest deserts to the highest Andin mountain tops. The perfect meeting between the past, the present and the future…
