The energy he brings to the stage is suggestive of the signature style of his idol, Bruce Springsteen, who hit the scene about 30 years ago with Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ. "He's the guy who got me going, Leighton said of Springsteen. "I guess it was about the attitude of having a good time in life...and so that's kind of what I've always tried to have my music be - just different aspects of life."
One aspect of performing life Leighton is definitely familiar with is working his way up the live ladder.
He has played four to five nights a week for the past 10 years and has gone from playing small clubs as a band, to solo support for national/international tours with The BoDeans, Joe Cocker, Boz Skaggs, Chuck Berry and, most recently, Jonny Lang.
Yet with all the accolades, Leighton's desire remains unmistakable; to continue to do what he loves best of all; playing his music.
