In 1998, Bob teamed up with Ten front man and songwriter Gary Hughes and they went on to record Catley's first three solo albums; “The Tower”, “Legends” and “Middle Earth”. The fourth solo album “When Empires Burn” was written with long-time keyboard player Paul Hodson and saw the sound move towards classic Dio-esque metal. “Spirit Of Man” is Bob Catley's Heavy Metal album combining his trademark vocals with harder edged, epic and heavier songs than “When Empires Burn”. The songs are closer to late Seventies Rainbow and classic Dio and the songs were written with guitar player and songwriter Vince O'Regan. Essential British Hard Rock from one of the leading vocalists of the genre.
