it's a wise child
It’s a Wise Child. It’s a shaky broke-down levee that spills and fills a thirsty creek. It’s a drip, a drop from a leaky faucet, soft rain splash on windowpane. It’s feet sloshed in a sloppy puddle, a breached water main. It’s a pent up fire hydrant, expansive as the open sea. In 1973, Dan Nawara and Mark Meisinger formed It’s a Wise Child, and Gabriel Boden joined in 1976. In 2001 they bought microphones and began singing songs into them. The band released its first full-length record, Self Titled Album, in 2004, which received rave reviews from at least 5 people who were not sleeping with any band members at press time. Jim DeRogatis (Sound Opinions host and Chicago Sun-Times music critic) described the album’s sound as “melodic indie-rock with a Louisville slant.” It’s A Wise Child creates a unique and diverse sound using a simple approach: two guitars, bass, and drums. The songwriting team of Nawara, Meisinger, and Boden all contribute lyrically and vocally. They are currently writing and recording a fresh collection of songs on the near north side of Chicago, where the core members of the band reside. A new album is expected by early 2006. Tracks
