The Sinisters

Acid-punks. Frenzied chaos. Hospital breakouts. The Sinisters have long ago reduced each and every tag to verbal irrelevance by persistingly blowing their critics to sonic smithereens. A six-year continuous and tumultous history ('93 to '99, roughly) saw the Toronto band take a break – of sorts – after their Cheerleader Drugdealer EP was released in the States in 1999. Now Brian, Saint, Scarlet and Troy are back, with a full-length album whose title says it all: JUMBO MEANS JUMBO. 14 tracks under 30 minutes, executed with sheer terminal force. The catchiest guitar hooks Scarlet has ever played, fueled by raw animal instinct and solid black-hearted determination.
