TWENTY-FOUR HOURS is a modern Italian band led by keyboardist-singer Paolo LIPPE. The quartet performs a kind of music that can be defined as quite close, in spirit more than in form, to British PORCUPINE TREE. Following in this its main inspiration, its album recorded in 1999 and called "Oval Dreams" elegantly and convincingly blends airy guitars with linear rhythm lines and energetic themes. PINK FLOYD and OZRIC TENTACLES can all be mentioned here. You are not convinced ? You should also know that one of the tracks is called "Twenty-Four-Pink-Hot-Tentacles" ! We can also hear on this album two covers that show two other major influences: VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR's "Darkness - 11/11" and THE BEATLES' "Mother Nature's Son". The album finishes stylishly with "The Bastards", an almost 20-minute suite ! "The Sleepseller" (2004) contains new atmospheres, somewhat like misty ambient or trip-hop sounds. Don't miss this revolutionnary new album !
