It’s A Wise Child creates a unique and diverse sound using a simple approach: two guitars, bass, and drums. The songwriting team of Nawara, Meisinger, and Boden all contribute lyrically and vocally. They have been described by Sound Opinion’s Jim DeRogatis as “Melodic indie-rock with a Louiseville slant.” Which puts them in line with post-rock bands like Slint, June of 44 and For Carnation as well as Modest Mouse and Califone.
They are currently writing and recording a fresh collection of songs on the near north side of Chicago, where the core members of the band reside. A new album is expected by early 2006.
It’s A Wise Child has played through out Chicago including such venues as Subterranean, Beat kitchen, Darkroom, Pontiac and the Mutiny. Their songs have been played on WXRT, various college radio stations and in their favorite bars.
