KENNEDY ! performs a typically Japanese, grandiose and symphonic instrumental music. On it, we'll notice a dose of brassy invention close to free-jazz. The line-up is on this subject, quite unique, given that the bass-player is absent of the basic quartet and has been replaced by a saxophone player. Recorded in 1987, their eponymous album is an excellent live on which we can here those Japanese musicians take up the challenge of making a cover of the apocalyptic "Birds Of Fire" by THE MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA... A pure moment of joy, not to be missed !
