Do you know many Progressive rock line-ups that can show off almost four millions albums sold of their first recording (You've read well, this is no spelling mistake !!!) ??? And we also have to add that this album was issued in the mid-Eighties, a quite negative period for Progressive rock ! Even YES and other high profile bands may not be able to say the same... Actually, AUTOGRAPH was an oficial line-up of the Russian government, the induced monopoly explaining those amazing numbers. AUTOGRAPH recorded then an excellent eponymous album (1985) in the style of GENESIS, with wide keyboards and Russian vocals. Recorded four years later, "Stone Land" is now reissued by Musea. This time, the style is an excellent FM rock between JOURNEY and TOTO. The particularity of the vocals in the language of Tolstoļ remains, as well as the references of Peter GABRIEL's group.
