CIRKEL is a Dutch Progressive rock band, that published "The First Goodbye" in 1984. Refusing to compose in using recipes of vain virtuosity, Hans Den HARTOG (Keyboards), Hennie Van MOURIK (Bass) and Ad STRUIJK (Drums) have concentrated on the cohesion and melodies. Played by a guest, the guitar is at the forefront, and keyboards come to enrich the sound. Their music is impregnated with a rock sensitivity, with an interesting work on the rhythms. The Musea reissue includes well-documented biography and two bonus-tracks from the same recording sessions. Here is a marginal music, out of trends but full of honesty and musical feeling. To be rediscovered !
