During pre production rehearsals for King Crimson HTBHWWYHTBHW and TPTB recordings the Rhythm Buddies, Trey Gunn and Pat Mastelotto, would arrive early and stay late to adjust and explore devilish metric directions often improvising in the process. This CD is one of those jams!
As one rehersal day ended Engineer Ken Latchney placed two mics in the room and pressed record on the Adat machine as he and the others left the rehearsals at Thunderbird Studio in Nashville -in fact the first thing you hear on this CD is Robert Fripp saying good by to the Rhythm buddies as they blast off to explore. The tape runs out 45 min later and what you have on the CD is an unedited transfer, split into thirds to help your CD player index the events.
This CD is about as casual as music gets: no hype, no overdubs, no bullshit.
Mindawn is the only place in the world that you can still get this material.
