Something is rotten in the state of Progressive heavy-metal... And ANTIDEPRESSIVE DELIVERY is here to throw it all ! Here is unquestionably one of the most astounding surprises of the year 2004 ! Those musicians don't come from Denmark, but rather from Norway: they seem pop up from nowhere, flinging us an absolutely stunning first album. Released on the US label The Laser's Edge, "Feel. Melt. Release. Escape" hits especially for being able to associate totally different styles, and changing them in the twinkling of an eye. What does it sound like then ? Try to imagine a Progressive heavy-metal band discovering the Scandinavian School and their Mellotron sounds ! As if DREAM THEATER was meeting ANEKDOTEN... If you need more, listen to the long suite "Bones And Money", and you will just believe KANSAS is playing ! Pete BECK's voice is really important too here: being aggressive with the same ease as when singing emotional ballads, our man has got everything to make a name for himself among the best vocalists in the genre. The brilliant production of the album serves both a stunning instrumental mastery and technical level for up-and-coming rock-musicians. You know what's left for you to do then... After causing some fright to many aficionados as the band announced its dissolution, ANTIDEPRESSIVE DELIVERY is back at last, with a brand new second album. Released on the Musea label this time, "Chain Of Foods" (2008) cools the ardour of the debut album, favouring a musical approach both more mature and cohesive. Influences of the Seventies take more space, and DEEP PURPLE is more and more quoted when it comes to making comparisons. One may note that the musicians also wished to tint their music with light jazz-rock influences in the background. All these blended ingredients provide us with a brilliant performance, that should definitively allow this Norwegian outfit to find its place in the sun. Icing on the cake, a nice tribute is given to a giant of the Seventies: "We Will Crimson You". Will you guess what British band then ?
