Island and Deserts is my 31st record - and I feel like the first 30 were a warmup ... (exactly as I felt about nos. 29 & 30). these songs were recorded on the meditteranean island of mallorca, pretty much alone, over the last few years.This is not a throwaway pop - I think the more times you have been around the block, the more you will like this material.
The first 6 songs are Island gentle grooves mostly - the second half inspired by Morroco and Lost Wages - SOUNDS like the desert ...Howl is here, respectfully inspired by alan ginsberg's epic beat poem - and will Louie and the boys make it back from Korea?
