For our fourth release, Pyre of Dreams, we decided to take a bit of a different approach to the songwriting. The album is basically a compilation of inspirations from some of our favorite stories from the realms of science-fiction, fantasy and myth. We found inspiration in the stories of J.R.R. Tolkien (Threnody), Isaac Asimov (Nightfall), Philip K. Dick (Android Dreams) and Ian Watson (Alien Embassy). In addition, we created a five song concept piece called Temple in Time, which is our take on the waning days of King Arthur and the magic of the Isle of Avalon. And, of course, we included a song about a mythological figure as we have done on all previous releases (Aphrodite this time around).
