ONE WORLD TAPESTRY is the name of a project initiated by Australian disc-jockey Andrew HOLBORN, famous for his radio broadcast "Third Ear", and his taste for the ethnic and folk side of Progressive rock. His aim was to associate a charity operation with his passion for the music we love. At first moved by the tragedy that happened to South Asia with the 2004 tsunami, he eventually chose to give all the benefits, in conjunction with The International Red Cross, for the Sudanese refugees. Musea decided to produce the CD. Fifteen bands and artists, from all around the world, chose to contribute with one of their tracks. Indonesia, Australia, Sweden, the United States, France, Hungary and Brazil are the main nationalities represented here. There are Progressive rock bands (IN THE LABYRINTH, VITAL DUO, ENSEMBLE NIMBUS, POCOS E NUVENS, deux musiciens issus du groupe hongrois SOLARIS...), as well as ethnic (Such as Sabah Habas MUSTAPHA, aka Colin BASS.), folk or electronic experiments. All these bands share different musical cultures, "popular" musical roots, and a common quest for authenticity. Here are 80 minutes of very strong music, and Sudanese refugees deserved this respectful tribute, in their struggle for life.
