Released on the Gazul label, "Ignoble Vermine" (2004) gathers fifteen artists around PTOSE, a cult combo of the early Eighties French underground stage. Considered then as the local equivalent to THE RESIDENTS, PTOSE obviously left traces in some people's minds. This tribute-album was designed and produced by the Parisian collective PALO ALTO (Jacques BARBERI, Denis FRAJERMAN & Philippe PERREAUDIN), that made six albums since 1989, in a spirit close to that of TUXEDOMOON or THE LEGENDARY PINK DOTS. Coming from various musical backgrounds, the artists involved (LES HAUTS DE PLAFONDS, BOSCO, Laurent PERNICE & Pakito BOLINO, KLIMPEREI, LA SOCIETE DES TIMIDES A LA PARADE DES OISEAUX, SERVOVALVE, LEFDUP ET LEFDUP, DELETED, NORSCQ, Pierre BASTIEN & MECANIUM, PALO ALTO & Emiko OTA, CHAZAM, PHONEME, TOUPIDEK LIMONADE, DRAGIBUS and NON FINITO ORCHESTRA) all played the game of the cover version, sharing the common view upon ludic, offset and wrongly "dancy" attitude of the band originating from the west of France. The sleeve was designed by Jef BENECH' (Graphic designer and musician within the NON FINITO ORCHESTRA) and presents a previously unreleased text by Pascal BUSSY (Author of numerous books about KRAFTWERK, CAN, John COLTRANE, Charles TRENET...). This is a little gem of new musics that you should not miss whatsoever !
