This brand new band from Israel, has nothing in common with other bands named TRESPASS you may have known or heard of. This powerful trio (Keyboards-guitars-vocals, bass & drums) offers us its first album "In Haze Of Time" (2002). These young (Around twenty-eight) but experienced musicians have been playing in numerous local bands, with very diverse styles, until they got together in this group. Gil STEIN (Keyboards) received a classical training, and was even offered a scholarship in Berklee which just means he is a complete virtuoso ! This album reveals astounding Progressive rock pieces, English sung but with instrumental sequences dominating. You may think of EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER, FOCUS, UK or THE NICE, but these bands can’t be considered as influences: the leader and main composer did not know them, nor any other bands working in this field, until the album’s recording ! That’s why this music is exceptional, a natural synthesis of classical, rock and jazz music, full of power, musical ideas and technical skill, with an excellent and modern sound. Moreover, TRESPASS composed mid-long pieces, very well structured, and avoids self-indulgence and endless soli. A sort of musical perfection ! Four years later, still on the Musea label, "Morning Lights" (2006) renews the pleasure to hear three virtuosos playing a mostly instrumental music in a more classical vein than before, influenced by BACH and VIVALDI, but enthusiastic and refreshing after all. Brilliant !
