rocketclover
It’s a side-project of the rockband “raketenklee” (the name is the German translation of the word “rocketclover”, obviously), which usually plays pop and rock with German lyrics. After their contribution at UNIVERSAL’s “Your-Tribute-To-Metallica-Contest” on YOUTUBE, where they first covered two Metallica-songs in an acoustic-line-up, many people asked them to do a complete album with Metallica-tributes in their special acoustic-style. So they decided to form two bands, from now on: “raketenklee”, for playing their own stuff with german lyrics and “rocketclover” for playing the Metallica-tribute-program, which they meanwhile often perform live on pub-, club- and open-air-stages. “rocketclover’s” debut-album “Some Kind Of Clover” appeared 2009 at Progrock-Records. Produced by Henning Pauly (worked with Sebastian Bach from “Skid Row”, James La Brie from “Dream-Theater”, Michael Sadler from “Saga” and many more) the album sounds a lot bigger and fatter, than you would expect from an acoustic-band. A few guest-musicians and the overdubbed guitars, mandolins, ukeles, banjos and so on make it sound more like a good produced pop-album, but still with the acoustic organic feel. For the live-appearances “rocketclover” stick to their three-piece-band, which guarantees the roughness and the pure sound and energy of unplugged gigs and works out well for every kind of venue.
