Vince Lauria
What a gem!
After nearly twenty years, two new songs featuring the late vocalist/percussionist Shaun Guerin (Cinema Show, solo projects) and acoustic/electric guitarist Vince Lauria (author, teacher) have surfaced. Shaun & Vince were friends throughout their teens and early twenties in Burbank, California, where they played together in various bands. Shaun (who passed away a few years ago) was an extremely talented musician who comes from a long line of respected musicians -- his father was one of the most sought-after session drummers in the business throughout the 60's and 70's. Shaun himself divided his time between performing as vocalist/occasional percussionist in the excellent L.A.-based Genesis tribute ensemble "Cinema Show" and also released a number of his own highly-inventive solo CD's, as well as appearing on numerous other projects. He was a very expressive and emotional vocalist, and, as evidenced by his own work and this newly-uncovered EP, one hell of a drummer as well. Vince is a published author though Mel Bay Publishing and ADG Productions and has written many books on rock guitar technique. He is also a well-respected teacher who taught at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles for many years before moving to Las Vegas (which is where he resides currently); he now teaches at Brill Music Academy. Vince recently discovered a two-track, reel-to-reel tape recorded in the late ‘80’s which features two instrumental tracks of drums and blistering electric guitar, performed by Shaun and Vince. It’s been remastered by Vince and sounds like it was recorded yesterday! The two songs featured are "Hi Ho Silver" and "Three Way Mind". Tracks
