Mogador
A band born just like in the good old days: a guitarist puts a notice on the wall of a claustrophobic rehearsal studio, a drummer reads it and a band is born! In a couple of days keyboards and bass are brought in and by the summer of 2007 Mogador is officially writing and rehearsing music in a tie factory on Lake Como in Italy. Mogador is the ancient name of the Moroccan port of Esauira that gave it’s name to a beautiful tie cloth that is a mix of silk and cotton. The same idea of mixing is reflected in the influences on Mogador’s style of music. The individual members of the band enjoy all manner of music from progressive rock, folk, fusion and classical. Among their influences are: ELP, Camel, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Yes, Gentle Giant, Spring, Van Der Graaf Generator, Locanda delle Fate, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree…
