Coming from Nantes (France), the keyboards player Bertrand LOREAU is a talented Klaus SCHULZE and VANGELIS disciple. Our man took the time to polish his style, in releasing four albums for the Musea Parallèle and Dreaming labels. "Prière" (1992), "Le Pays Blanc" (1993), "Sur Le Chemin" (1996) & "Jericoacoara" (1998) showed an electronic music both suggestive and entertaining. Essentially made of reworked old compositions or that never appeared in the first opuses, "Passé Composé" (2002) is a very cultural piece of work, driven by a contagious passion. Helped by guitar player Lionel PALIERNE and keyboards player Olivier BRIAND, the multiple electronical textures create serene, feverish or hypnotic ambiences, never boring at all. The diversity of styles includes Progressive rock, experimental or repetitive musics, new-age or classical music. Here you're going to find ten years of artistical creation in one disc, a patchwork that eventually sounds as an entire concept. The new album "D'Une Rive A L'Autre" (2006) certainly is the most accomplished Bertrand LOREAU's album to date. This inventive artist keeps on following his own path, regardless of the mainstream. His music has real melodic qualities that should enchant movie music lovers for instance. This album generally evokes classical music: it is dedicated to his father, an accomplished violonist, which probably accounts for some choices among the arrangements. On some titles, experienced professional musicians such as Olivier BRIAND, Stéphane KOTAKIS and Christophe MARTIN De MONTAGU brought their personal touch, thus contributing in giving an impression of maturity that emanates from these recordings.
