Fans of Rongey and the Underground Railroad are in for a treat with this collection of keyboard-intensive, structurally elaborate rock tracks. The 23-minute album closer “Kunstwolle,” exploring man’s growing mastery over his own evolution, is Rongey’s most ambitious and challenging work thus far. Other selections include “Eroica,” a salute to scientific curiosity, the enigmatic three-part instrumental “Mechmech,” and “Lie Still,” a dark and cautionary examination of faith. This is Kurt Rongey’s third solo album – the follow-up to That Was Propaganda. Although it was largely completed in 1995, its first release finally takes place in 2007. A rich and thought-provoking album well worth the wait.
