As a professional keyboard player, George Woodrow has devoted decades to his art. He is a skilled General Practitioner of all sorts of music, but a Specialist in Jazz, particularly The Blues. Years ago he started recording examples of his work. After a lot of woodshedding, we thought it was time some of that work saw the light of day. After sifting through the accumulated woodpile, we decided to narrow it down to the blues, finally selecting these choice cuts for your listening pleasure.
From the crackling energy of "Hot Shot Boogie" to the reflective melancholy of "Twilight By The Seine", you will find a variety of moods represented, along with fresh new interpretations of some time-honored standards, including W.C. Handy's seminal "St. Louis Blues", George Gershwin's wistful "Summertime", and concluding with a live performance of the Duke Ellington classic, "Mood Indigo".
We think you will find our little package tour an ingenious musical journey, so we invite you to buckle up, sit back, and enjoy the ride!
