In the mid-90's keyboard wiz Vince DiCola, Jethro Tull drummer Doane Perry and Tower of Power vocalist Ellis Hall got together and created an amazing album called "Thread". Prior to this project Vince and Doane had done the "Storming Heaven" project with a different vocalist and Thread is an extension of the project. The music is a mixture of catchy pop melody lines, complex arrangements in a more progressive style and with a huge AOR production. The combination of a soulful vocalist such as Ellis with this type of music is a welcome and refreshing change from the standard fare. Comparisons can be made at times to Mr Mister and Toto, but this album is so much more than that.
